Facial Resurfacing

Skin resurfacing can be achieved through several techniques. Each of these procedures can reduce the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, age spots or acne scarring, and result in smoother, younger, more rejuvenated skin. Most skin resurfacing techniques are minimally invasive and require little recovery time. They include the Cool Touch III Laser, Chemical Peels, Thermage/Thermacool TC, Visage, Microdermabrasion and Photofacial. Once we examine you, we will determine the most appropriate treatment remedy for your specific conditions and skin type.

Fractional CO2 Laser Skin Resurfacing

This type of fractional CO2 resurfacing involves the use of a CO2 laser, but instead of the traditional method of treatment, the laser creates a matrix tiny of treatment areas. This has great results, similar to traditional CO2, but has less downtime and quicker recovery.

Fractional 1540 non-ablative Laser Treatment

This laser, by Palomar, uses an array of high-precision microbeams to treat the skin. This triggers a natural healing process which causes the skin to smooth and tighten.

CoolTouch III

The CoolTouch features a cryogenic spray to provide cooling during a treatment. The result is a comfortable skin tightening procedure. This device stimulates the growth of new collagen which provides fullness to the skin surface and naturally decreases with age.

Laser Hair Reduction

Laser hair reduction treats excess hair on any area of the body. EpiLight(tm) Hair Reduction System is an intense pulsed light treatment that removes unsightly hair from all parts of the body with long-lasting results. The Gentlelase laser is an Alexandrite laser with a track record of superior results and safety. Both laser’s energy is absorbed by the pigment in the hair, which heats and ultimately damages the hair follicle. Through a series of treatments, the hair shrinks and is usually destroyed. The procedure is virtually painless and can be used on most skin types. Patients feel confident and liberated by the superior results achieved through this revolutionary procedure.

Tattoo Removal

A laser can be used to remove tattoos (or birthmarks) by breaking up the pigmented area and allowing fresh new skin to replace it. There are many factors that will affect how successfully a tattoo can be removed, including skin tone, location, how your skin heals, how the tattoo was applied, color of the tattoo and the length of time it has been on your skin. Most likely, several treatments will be necessary to achieve the desired result. At Bellaire Dermatology we will examine you to determine whether we should surgically remove the tattoo, use dermabrasion, or a laser.
