What is Microneedling?
Microneedling is a minimally invasive procedure that can enhance your skin’s appearance, resulting in healthier, more vibrant skin. By creating microscopic channels in the skin surface, microneedling starts a natural healing process that produces two important proteins: collagen and elastin. Extra collagen causes new tissue to form, which improves skin texture, while elastin improves skin strength and elasticity.
How Does the Microneedling Procedure Work?
Our procedure uses the MicroPen EVO, an FDA-cleared microneedling device, to carefully press fine needles (0.5-2mm in length) into the skin. This is repeated until full coverage of the targeted area has been achieved, which generally takes ~45 minutes or less (depending on area size and desired results). The MicroPen EVO is designed to glide across the skin, preventing drag and minimizing discomfort throughout the procedure.
What Conditions Can Microneedling Treat?
Microneedling can treat many skin concerns, including:
- Acne scars
- Dark spots
- Fine lines
- Large pores
- Stretch marks
- Wrinkles
- Overall texture and tone
How Much Downtime Will I Need After Microneedling?
There is minimal to no downtime needed. Patients can expect light redness in the targeted area up to 24 hours after the procedure.
How Many Treatments Will I Need?
Most patients see best results after a series of 3-6 treatments, spaced about 4 weeks apart.
